DIETITIAN AT LARGE
Food and Nutrition Education and Consulting
Minna Scholten (she/her) is a Dietitian at Large, working in North Central Massachusetts. A nutrition educator, consultant, and collaborator, Minna provides nutrition support in community settings. Her mission is to help people navigate the landscape of nutrition, health, and life with a little more ease. As a Health at Every Size® aligned practitioner, Minna knows that health can only be accessed when we attend to collective well-being and social equity.
As a dietitian partner with Hannaford Supermarkets in Marlborough and Lunenburg MA, Minna is a self-described “food ambassador,” offering demonstrations, store tours, group classes, and consultations on cooking and shopping for specific dietary needs. These services are offered through Hannaford and are free of charge.
UPDATE as of March 2020: Minna is temporarily out of stores during the coronavirus epidemic. Until she resumes in store services, she is available by email for questions and sharing virtual resources.
Minna is also available for speaking and consulting for organizations, private groups, and community events. She has partnered with such organizations as the John C. Stalker Institute of Food and Nutrition, Framingham State University, Massachusetts General Hospital pediatric residents, and the Cambridge Public Schools.
Minna’s work is rooted in the principles of Health at Every Size® and is a member of the Association for Size Diversity and Health®. She is committed to improving access to affirming care while amplifying the work of practitioners whose identities and lived experience differs from hers. Minna’s identities and associated privileges include being a white, straight, abled, cis woman with a smaller body. She has lived experience as a person with chronic health conditions and she uses this to offer specialized support for people with celiac disease.
Minna also works as a parent, community volunteer, and roller derby official. She loves travel, gardening, and sharing food with her family and friends.
