A Little About My Life
My pronouns are she/her. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and hold a Masters of Science in Food and Nutrition. Besides food, I love traveling, old houses, and lakes. My favorite things to eat (though not necessarily together) are oysters, roast chicken, and my mom's strawberry birthday cake. My husband and I have a delightful daughter who reminds me of all the important things in life: humor, curiosity, honesty, and trying every day to live with a full heart.
About Minna's Approach
Everybody eats. Eating seems so simple, yet, feels so fraught. That is not your fault.
We live and breathe each day in a diet-driven culture that discourages us from listening to and trusting our bodies. Diet culture invokes shame and judgement, yet gives us no consistent framework about how to nourish and nurture ourselves.
Eating can feel especially tricky when experiencing challenging health conditions or life circumstances.
The truth is, healthy eating looks different for each and every client that comes through the door. You have your own story, history, and needs when it comes to food and nutrition.
Through our work together, you will learn to move away from the hype of fad diets, unsustainable restriction, and the false promises of diet culture. You will move toward a sustainable, flexible way of eating that builds body trust and well-being.
The keystones to my practice are:
The Non-Diet Approach
My practice is rooted in the Health at Every Size® framework, which accepts and respects the diversity of body shapes, sizes, and abilities; recognizes that weight is not a proxy for health; and advocates for respectful care through ending weight stigma.
